General Rules
No Spam/Trashing
You only get one warning, after that it's a ban, depending upon just how much of a mess has been made it may be permanent.
This includes repeatedly posting threads where they don't belong, we've got better things to be doing than cleaning up after you. I will only move your posts once and PM you the reasons why (Ironshot may be more kind) but if you continue to post things out of place after I have told you where they belong I will restrict your account. If you want to apologise then you will still be able to PM me. Continue with this behaviour and a ban is the only remaining option.
Respect each other
Be polite. If you have a problem with someone don't start flaming them PM a staff member and they'll sort things out. Flaming only results in ruining things for others. On that note: What's in RP stays in RP... and vice versa. Keep personal problems out of the RP please rivalries are fine but just make sure things don't get too heated.
Adult Behaviours
Regarding swearing, intoxication and romance.
Swearing is okay but in moderation. If you're swearing every other line that's way too much.
Alcohol and similarly intoxicating substances (since that can vary for different species) are allowed but don't overdo it or your characters could wind up spending a good amount of time in a cell. Recreational use of drugs is not allowed the only high anyone should be getting is into orbit by means of a spacecraft.
Romance is fine but sexual behaviour is not. I don't want to be seeing any talk about genitals. This is an open forum, anyone can read this so this should warrant no further explanation than that.
No Plagiarizing
Creativity is expected, directly coping is the very opposite of creativity. You get one warning, a repeat offense is an instant ban.
No Powerplaying/Godmodding
You only control your own characters, your character might have hypnotic powers but you can never really tell the strength of your opponent's will.
Never assume that you can attack another and instantly hit them, some reflexes are faster than others. Auto dodging is equally irritating, you have to take some damage in combat.
One last note...
Please be sure to write enough for other people to reply, one liners don't give much to work with, but at the same time a huge wall of text isn't really necessary. Mid length posts are perfect.
RP Specific
Status and counters
Ideally I would have added some coding to this forum so these appear automatically but I lack the coding knowledge to do so and with varying numbers of characters per person I don't even know if it's possible. These will have to be added to your posts manually and adjusted each time, I really hope I can change this later on but don't think I ever will be able to. (If anyone who is not yet a member here knows how to do this please let me know as soon as possible thanks.)
They only need to be on combat posts I will add the first one to your post only if you fail to, if you continue to inconvenience me by making me add them to all your posts you will be punished. More info about the status and counters: broken link don't click you have been warned
Alien Languages
Your character may speak in these languages but you must provide a translation. The universal language is of course English.
Magic
There are a couple of rules for the use of magic, more rules may appear as magic classes develop.
Machines and cyborgs have restricted use of magic. Machines take half of the magic points used as damage. Their magic counter is always purple. Potions also damage them 10% of the potion total. Cyborgs only have this inconvenience if they use too much magic. Only half of their counter is purple, if they stop before they hit the purple side no damage is dealt. Potions will not counter this, once at the point where the counter turns purple (even if not yet all the way, example magic counter reads 3/5050/50 the next spell used costs 7 a potion is used the entire counter is now purple but only 4 points of that will be counted for damage but then all points after, if you don't understand this example then drop into the non canon arena for a while to practice) the counter will become entirely purple if a potion is used. The only way to reset this is to take a break in magic use of about 2-3 in game days. No skipping time for this unless agreed upon by all players.
Necromancy can be used to resurrect dead characters or npcs but they will only be zombie slaves incapable of independent interaction. Intelligence stat halved and strength doubled to the max of 10. Control of zombified characters can be handed over to the necromancer or kept with the original player as they choose. The cost of resurrecting a player character would be a dip in available magic for the caster lasting as long as the zombie is active, the cost is half of the resurrected intelligence stat x10. Zombies cannot use magic. Npcs only carry a cost if you resurrect more than one, 10 points per additional npc. A phoenix charm is the only thing that can truly resurrect a dead character but those are incredibly rare, a quest and a willing wizard are required to obtain one.
Conquest
Conquering yes, all out destroying of populated planets, no. Enslaving of races, sure but only with the consent of the players involved, as rather than simply submitting a rebellion may be in the works... (destroying of planets must be discussed in advanced, defensive teams will be established, a leader for the planet if populated must be present)
Home planets are off limits, unless you have agreed to fight it out for control in which case go right ahead. Wars can often be fun to play but try not to get too carried away in the drama.
Earth is pretty much fair game for all conquering races but it will be defended.
If you are planning to go about conquering worlds don't be surprised if you have someone attempt to defend.
Character Limits
The number of characters you can have is only limited by how many you personally can handle.
Home World Threads
Don't start a home world thread unless you are sure it will be used, there must be a ruler for these planets.
