The Zenatrixian Race
Home planet: Zenatrixia, a green and yellow planet twice the size of Earth. It is home to many psychic lifeforms. The planet has an aura of peace and tranquillity that can be felt even in orbit, it quickly ebbs any feelings of hatred or rage in an attacking force often resulting in a retreat. If the attackers are immune to these emotional effects then a mass force field is projected by every being on the planet, the collective force field is impenetrable.
Description
Zenatrixians have pointed and lengthened ears, their skin colours varying in natural earthy colours such as gold, green, brown and reddish brown. Their eyes are of a solid colour and appear a little larger than a humans, they can be of any colour. Hair consists not of strands but of a solid mass that acts like a liquid when touched.
Clothing varies from tribal to modern-futuristic. One universal item worn by both male and female is a collar or necklace with a crystal, which emits a constant weak telepathic field.
Abilities
The crystal collar or necklace emits a calming and sometimes alluring frequency. This charm is the first line of defence against an attacker.
High level psychic power. They can easily tap into the minds of other beings enabling them to communicate across language barriers. This power is never used to harm or invade privacy.
They can psychically command lower lifeforms but this cannot be used in combat as control is easily broken by the creature's survival instinct.
They have strong empathic senses and will often form extremely strong bonds with friends.
They are able to block physical attacks by means of a psychic force field, it is a very strong defence making up for the complete lack of offensive abilities. Mental attacks have no effect on them whatsoever but will not go unnoticed.
Capable of psychically healing themselves and others. Healing major injuries leaves them physically drained.
Weaknesses
The shield cannot block energy or fire based attacks as efficiently. Most of the power breaks through. (Multiple zenatrixians projecting a force field can block out all damage but this can only be used in the most extreme circumstances and would require the complete cooperation of at least a hundred beings for this to be effective even over a small area.)
Race Persona
A very open and friendly race. Their abilities allow them to tell if an outsider can be trusted. Very caring and generous, typical off world and ship roles reflect this. The most common jobs being in the medical professions.
Social Customs
Zenatrixians greet each other with a pulse of psychic energy which shows how they're feeling and gives identity details.
Most communications on Zenatrixia are done telepathically.
Interactions with other races are always friendly and very like human greetings though they lean more towards the emotions. Friendly greetings are extended to all even if the other race is hostile.
Language
The written language is similar to the ancient runic writings on Earth. There is no spoken version of their language but many other languages from other worlds are used instead.
Hierarchy
There is no direct leader of this race but there is a council of elders who are only called upon in times of great need. They are considered to be the most powerful psychics if they intervene their actions and words are heeded.
Tech and Science
Advanced computers with crystal storage banks for memory. All other tech is for healing, entertainment and educational purposes. Nothing to cause harm, only shielding technology and advanced durable alloys. Medical procedures are non invasive, a scanning device that can detect deep damage is a common tool used by the medics, a penetrative non harmful energy is then used to repair the damage.
Transportation
Most commonly small shuttle craft only equipped with a shield which may be reinforced by the occupant's own forcefield abilities.
The largest vehicles are for transporting goods, also only defended with a shield.
The interior of these ships is always very comfortable and easily adaptable to the needs of the crew. The exterior of the ship is often stylised to resemble a living creature either from their home world or others.
Spiritual Beliefs
No gods or goddesses, they instead have a strong belief in the power of nature and the preservation of life.
